Render Markdown and copy sanitized HTML

Renders Markdown source into a formatted HTML preview: headings, bold/italic, ordered and unordered lists, code blocks, inline code, tables, blockquotes, and rules are all supported. The upper part of the output is the rendered result; the lower part is the copyable HTML source — paste it into blog systems, email templates, or anything that accepts HTML. The output is sanitized: scripts and dangerous attributes are stripped.

Preview README files and convert Markdown to HTML

Previewing a GitHub README or docs while writing; converting Markdown to HTML for systems that only accept HTML (some CMSs and email editors); verifying that a piece of Markdown renders the way you expect before committing it.

Markdown dialects and remote image requests

The renderer follows CommonMark with GFM extensions (tables, strikethrough). Dialects differ subtly across platforms: GitHub adds task lists and autolinks, some editors style code blocks their own way — the target platform's rendering is authoritative. Images are referenced by external URL; a working preview does not guarantee the target platform allows hotlinked images.

Can Markdown execute scripts or contact another website?

Generated HTML is sanitized before previewing: script elements and dangerous event handlers are removed. This does not make external resources local. Image URLs and other permitted remote resources can still contact another website, and following a link opens its destination.

Do not put private tokens in remote URLs. Sanitization here is not a security guarantee for another application; a destination where you paste HTML must apply its own rendering and security rules.
